In the blood tests conducted in March 2025, my HbA1c was found to be 13.3%, and I broke down in tears. I had been suffering from the serious heart condition cardiomyopathy since 2007, due to which my heart function was only 30%, and I had to take several medicines three times a day. I had been advised against physical exertion and climbing stairs. For nearly three months, I had been experiencing excessive thirst and hunger, along with a strong craving for sweets.
Around the same time, my husband, who was diabetic, and I were discussing various medicines and treatments available in the market for diabetes. We were looking for a method that was simple, practical, affordable and effective, and which could be followed regularly.
We had seen some of his friends trying this approach and observed their results. Therefore, we decided to join Dr. Jagannath Dixit’s simple and easy Diabetes Freedom Campaign. Within a week, we watched several of Dr. Dixit’s videos on diabetes freedom.
Both of us registered at the Nagpur center. On 15 April 2025, my HbA1c was 13.3%, fasting insulin was 12.78, weight was 68.8 kg and waist circumference was 95 cm. Initially, the doctor at the center was somewhat apprehensive about my adopting this lifestyle because of my physical ailments and heart condition.
I started following a daily routine of black tea in the morning, followed by buttermilk, lunch around 12:30 p.m., and buttermilk again in the afternoon, black tea in the evening and dinner at 8:00 p.m. I completely stopped consuming sugar, sweets and sweet fruits. Since I had been advised against exercise and brisk walking, I regularly did a little household work instead.
After 19 months, on 7 September 2026, my HbA1c came down to 5.9% (a reduction of 7.4 percentage points), my weight came down to 63.0 kg (a reduction of 5.0 kg), and my waist circumference became 91.0 cm (a reduction of 4.0 cm).
I experienced many benefits as a result. My clothes became loose, the dark patches under my arms disappeared, the darkening on the soles of my feet disappeared, and the itching on my body also reduced.
For my meals, I start with peanuts/walnuts/almonds, followed by salad and protein in the form of sprouted legumes/soya chunks, followed by chapati, daal, vegetables and rice.
As I lost weight, the strain on my heart reduced and its function improved to 34%. My doctor subsequently reduced the dosage of my medicines. We regularly watch Dr. Dixit’s lectures and share them with others. We also participate in the low-cost blood testing camps regularly organized at the Nagpur center.
This year, while enjoying a happy life free from diabetes, I will continue to follow this simple lifestyle regularly.
We sincerely thank Dr. Dixit and remain deeply grateful to him. We benefited from the valuable guidance of Dr. Sheetal Sane Madam at the Nagpur center, as well as the advice of Counsellor Mrs. Mrunalini Ghatol. Special thanks to our colleagues at the center, Mrs. Shweta and Mr. Akshay, who always helped us with a cheerful smile.
