My Transformation Story

After retiring on 31st July 2022, I gradually noticed that my weight was decreasing. It came down from 84 kg to 72 kg. I thought, “If I’m losing weight without any special effort, that’s a good thing.” However, along with this, I started feeling constantly thirsty and had to get up frequently at night to urinate.
My wife Anjali advised me to get my blood sugar tested, but I initially refused. Eventually, on her insistence — though a bit reluctantly — I got it checked on 25th November 2023. The reports were shocking. My HbA1c was 13% and average glucose was 326. I assumed that the onset of diabetes was more severe due to lack of physical activity and exercise after retirement.
My wife Anjali has had diabetes for nearly 12 to 15 years. She had never joined any group. But with the help of Dr. Ashtekar from Nashik Center, she found the address of DRC Pune. When she called, she was given a list of tests and asked to bring all the reports.

On 4th December, I went to the center with all my reports. Since it was Monday, I got to meet Dr. Dixit himself. He assured me that if I followed the lifestyle properly, I would soon become non-diabetic. After fully understanding everything, I resolved to follow this lifestyle rigorously.
Initially, giving up sweets completely, especially sweet tea, was tough. It was difficult not just for the body, but especially for the mind. I even had headaches for a few days. But after taking medicine and with time (within 55 minutes), I got used to the lifestyle.
I didn’t have a habit of walking regularly either, and even developed blisters on my feet at first. But gradually I got used to everything. In 4 months, my HbA1c dropped from 13% to 5.4%, I lost 4 kg in weight, and reduced 3.5 cm from my waist. An added benefit was that my blood pressure also dropped and I could stop taking my BP medicine. I moved from being diabetic to pre-diabetic.
Throughout this journey, my wife Anjali gave me invaluable support. Now she too visits the Pune center, and even her medications have been reduced.
I’m extremely grateful to Dr. Dixit Sir, Vishwas Joshi Sir, Swati Madam, and the entire team. On 4th April 2024, Sir honored both of us by presenting our reports. We both have decided to continue this lifestyle for life. We will also encourage others to adopt this lifestyle and keep motivating them.
