My Transformation Story
After the lockdown in 2021–2022, my weight increased by 5–6 kg and reached 86 kg. I started following the Dr. Dixit diet plan after watching his videos on YouTube. I also began walking, but due to lack of consistency, it had no real effect on my weight.
Since my mother is diabetic, I always feared that I might get diabetes due to hereditary reasons. Around that time, I developed a skin issue and went to see Dr. Take in Manchar. After examining me, he advised a few blood tests. My random blood sugar came out to be 282, and I was diagnosed with diabetes. I started treatment with Dr. Harshad Shete in Manchar, who also prescribed medication. Over the next 2–3 months, my sugar levels fluctuated, but there was no change in my weight.
I had earlier listened to Dr. Dixit lifestyle program on YouTube but hadn’t implemented it due to minor excuses. However, I finally decided to take serious action and went to DRC in Pune. Before going, I got both tests done as instructed by Joshi Sir over the phone. My HbA1c came out to be 7.7%. I was mentally scared. But Dr. Dixit Sir reassured me that if I followed this lifestyle properly and exercised regularly, I could reverse my diabetes. That gave me confidence.
Joshi Sir explained the lifestyle in detail, and I followed it strictly for one month. Within a month, my HbA1c dropped from 7.7% to 6.2%, and I lost around 4 kg. Later, I took part in the 90-day weight loss challenge. Now my weight has reduced to 69 kg. I am extremely happy. The doctors at DRC also stopped my medication.
I received excellent guidance from Dr. Dixit Sir, Joshi Sir, and Shilpa Madam. I understood how much protein, fiber, and carbohydrates should be in my meals and the correct order to eat different foods. Now I am sure I will be diabetes-free. The members and admins of the group constantly boost my motivation. I sincerely thank all of them.
